Why Your Support Matters
Competitive Salaries
Our schools must be able to recruit and retain excellent teachers and staff.
Water Valley competes with other school districts for qualified teachers and staff. A Strong community-supported education fund can help provide salary supplements, recruitment incentives, profesional development, housing assisstance, and other resources that help attract and retain excellent educators.
Declining Student Enrollment
Declining enrollment may reduce school funding while many operating costs remain.
School funding is often affected by the number of students enrolled. When Eenrollment declines, available revenue may decline even though the costs of maintaining buildings, transportation, technology, educational programs, and qualified personal continue. Community supporrt can help protect important educational opportunities during periods of declining enrollment.
Uncertain State and Federal Funding
State and federal education funding my change or diminish in the future.
State and federal appropriations are influenced by changing budgets, policies, and political priorities. These sources may not always keep pace with Water Valley's educational needs. A permanent, locally supported fund can provide greater stability and help the community prepare for future funding reductions.
